Service Description

Who is this for? 3rd - 12th Graders who are ready for an introduction to productions. Students should be beginner to intermediate actors in skill and experience. A No Audition, Educational Class and Production HMAA continues its tradition of offering an educational based theater option for students. This class includes lessons in dramatic acting, improv, audition basics, theater finance, and a non-musical play production. The chosen play is TBD and will be based on the total number of enrolled students. Every student will be given lines to learn and recite for the play production. This class meets every Thursday at 11:00AM for 50-60 minutes. Show week is May 12-17 and attendance is mandatory. Rehearsals during the week of the show are Wednesday (evening) and Thursday (normal time). Dress rehearsal is May 16th and show day is May 17th. We will perform 2 shows that day. Rehearsal times during show week are TBD. This show will be the opening act for the Sr. drama company performance of A Play About A Dragon. Please do not commit to this class if you are not willing to attend every rehearsal the week of the show - These rehearsals are mandatory! This class is limited to 25 students. Class begins February 13th. Full refund before January 1st. No refunds January 1st or later. There will be no class on Feb 27 (Matilda Show Week), Mar 6, May 1 (Merrily Show Week). Harford Music and Arts has an absolutely zero tolerance policy for disrespectful behavior between students, parents, instructors, and directors.
