***WHO IS THIS FOR?*** This musical is for grades 1-5. All experience levels welcome. Limited to the first 30 registrations. ***WHEN AND WHERE ARE AUDITIONS?*** For this age group, we will be holding "Meet the Directors" sessions. You will be sent an excerpt from a song, and a page of dialogue. At your session, your child will be able to sing if they are comfortable, and perform the script page with us. (We want this to be a fun and comfortable experience for the kids, so no worries if your child is shy, doesn't want to sing, etc) Sessions will be released at a later date. ***WHEN AND WHERE ARE REHEARSALS?*** Rehearsals will take place at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Wednesdays from 5:45-7pm. Rehearsals begin Wednesday, October 7. Dress rehearsal will be Saturday, December 12 at 9am. ***WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE SHOWS?*** Shows will take place at The Warehouse Theater @E-Street. Show times are as follows: Saturday, December 12 - 11am (Call time 9am for dress rehearsal) Sunday, December 13 - 11am (call time 10am) Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat, our narrator, tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child, who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton's challenge is twofold — not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!
