OUR STORY
Where It All Began
Our founder and director, Jim Ellis, started HMAA in the spring of 2020. Ten days after opening our doors, COVID took center stage, and the academy was born in a virtual landscape. As the world began to re-open, Jim began to add in-person classes to include theater (Fall 2021) and Voices! Youth Choir (Spring 2022). Since then the academy has continued to grow in the homeschool and traditional schooled communities, serving over 1,000 children and adults in and around Harford County, MD. While encouraging excellence in all of its productions, HMAA strives to nurture and encourage personal and artistic growth with ALL of its members.
