Shrek Kids - The Musical

This musical is for grades 1-5. All experience levels welcome. Limited to the first 22 registrations. This production rehearses most Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning on November 4. Extra rehearsals may be added based on cast availability. Tuesday rehearsals will be for select called cast each week, from 5:45-6:45pm. Wednesday rehearsals will be all cast, 5:45-7pm. Show week is December 15-21 and attendance is mandatory. Rehearsals during the week of the show are Tuesday (evening, time TDB) and Wednesday (evening, time TBD). Dress rehearsal will be on Saturday morning, December 20th, 9am. We will perform one show on Saturday, Dec 20th at 11am, and 1 show on Sunday, Dec 21st at 11am. This is a non-auditioned show. We will assign roles a couple of weeks in after we have gotten to know the kids. (Casting for our Elementary students is done through play and observation). Please do not commit to this class if you are not willing to attend every rehearsal the week of the show - These rehearsals are mandatory! Rehearsals begin on November 4th. Full refund if you withdraw on or before October 1st. No refunds after October 1st. Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way. Harford Music and Arts has an absolutely zero tolerance policy for disrespectful behavior between students, parents, instructors, and directors.
