Service Description

Prefer to be behind the scenes? This option gives homeschool students in middle and high school an opportunity to learn theater basics, and participate in tech and crew for our production! Attend the first 3 weeks of our Junior Theater Production class, and take lessons in dramatic acting, improv, audition basics, theater finance, and a non-musical play production. Then, come back for show week! Attend show week rehearsals and get hands-on experience with lighting, spotlight, sound, projections, microphone management, sets, and more. (Tech students are welcome to attend any rehearsals during the semester, but there will be no formal instruction planned) You will have an assignment for the production, so you MUST be able to attend dress rehearsal and shows. (The assignment will be for our Senior Theater show, as well as the Junior Theater opening act.) Your schedule will be: Thursday, September 17, 11am-12pm, class Thursday, September 24 1, 11am-12pm, class Thursday, October 11, 11am-12pm, class Wednesday, January 6, 6-9pm, optional rehearsal (but encouraged!) Thursday, January 7, 11am-3pm, optional rehearsal (but encouraged!) Friday, January 8, 2:30pm (or ASAP) until about 9:30pm, mandatory dress rehearsal Saturday, January 9, around 12:30pm until the end of the last show Harford Music and Arts has an absolutely zero tolerance policy for disrespectful behavior between students, parents, instructors, and directors. Students or parents exhibiting these behaviors will be immediately dismissed from the production with no refund. Please always be kind!
